Albert Bengco Tranquilino’s Story of Hope

Albert Bengco Tranquilino’s Story of Hope

How does one rise from a life of poverty to lead a world-class company that’s patronized by the elite of the UAE? Ask entrepreneur Albert Tranquilino, whose story is not just compelling, but also quite inspiring.

Albert grew up underprivileged and was already working at the age of 12 as a janitor to support his family. He recalls moments in his youth where he would go hungry because there was simply nothing to eat. But his grit, resilience and sense of responsibility kept him going through the tough times. He then landed a job at a funeral parlor where he gained an appreciation for flowers.

With the experience he earned, he had the opportunity to join a flower shop in Dubai. Then, within 12 years of building his know-how and the trust and generosity from business partners whose confidence he has earned over the years, Albert established his own company in 2018. Darcey Flowers now stands proud as a premium locally-grown brand, within an elite roster of clients. Darcey provides elegant flower arrangements for occasions, weddings, and corporate events.

Expanding his business activities, Albert has also established Parfumella Flowers in his hometown Capas, Tarlac, giving the town not only a source of joy with his beautiful flowers, but also livelihood for his local employees.

A hands-on Managing Director, Founder Albert just takes his feat in stride. He talks about the importance of bringing his staff with him towards triumph. He says, “For me, success is being able to hire 14 Filipino staff, to help them achieve their dreams and be with me on this beautiful journey of our company.” Albert also shares that he’s mentoring his staff towards becoming entrepreneurs themselves someday.

Beyond his business, though, Albert dreams of making an impact that goes beyond mentoring his staff and inspiring them to become entrepreneurs someday. He says,

“My mission in life is to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate paying forward the blessings I have received.”

He continues, “Looking around me back home, reminds me of the poverty I personally experienced growing up in Tarlac. A lot of people want to study but lack the resources and the opportunity to. So, with my family, I want to be able to change lives through education. I want to send deserving children to school and start building classrooms, even on a small scale to begin with. When my kids grow up, I also want them to continue to be a part of that.”

And hence, Parfumella Foundation was born.

Sharing wisdom that allowed him to carve an immensely successful path in life, one that looks forward to giving back, Albert remarks, “First, have the courage and a big heart that embraces every challenge as an opportunity. Set a goal for every one of your dreams. And lastly, work hard and be patient.”
